"Recycle Sally is Fairhope's Recycled Art Car, designed by local artist Simeon Cox. In 2003, the City donated the 1993 Buick Skylark, a former city vehicle, to be used as an educational tool and head turning visual. Sally can be seen in Mardi Gras parades as well as other city community events. She will also be used at area schools, as needed, to show kids first hand what Fairhope recycles in our curbside program. Sally may be available to schools and civic groups, upon request. Call us at 990-0192, should you wish to request her at your next event, or if you have questions or comments on Sally...your organization may be interested in her upkeep!"

Want to do more than Recycling or Composting?
Reuse or donate materials instead of disposal. For example, Styrofoam peanuts may be wanted at local stores, which practice mail outs. Plastics bags may be donated to area thrift and consignment stores. Call ahead to potential stores before delivering to them.
Use the Fairhope Household Hazardous Waste program for unwanted chemicals---many chemicals dropped off are reused in the community, and more than half of the ones that are not reusable are used as a fuel source.
Encourage others to recycle---look for the Fairhope recycling emblem in area businesses windows. The emblem represents the business as a weekly participant in Fairhope's Recycling Program. If you don't see a recycling emblem at your favorite business in Fairhope, let the business know you care and want them to participate!
