FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL PIER AND PARK
Located at the West end of Fairhope Avenue, on the site on the city’s original commercial pier (dating back from 1894), the Fairhope Pier is our city’s ‘town square’. Destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the pier was rebuilt and reopened in November 2006. Designed for both strolling and fishing, the pier features benches, covered areas, restrooms, a marina and a restaurant. There is no cost to walk, but a saltwater license is required for fishing. The park is home to a lovely rose garden and fountain, plus picnic tables, pavilion, duck pond, tree trail, boat launch and a huge sandy beach. Nonresidents are charged park admission during summer season. In addition to the waterfront park, numerous bluff top parks extend along Mobile Street.

KNOLL PARK
Left in its natural state, this park is a popular spot for bird watchers. In the spring, the park’s hundreds of azalea bushes are a riot of beautiful pinks and reds. Fairhope Avenue at Magnolia Street.

FAIRHOPER’S COMMUNITY PARK
Built entirely by volunteers, this park is a wonderland for children with towers for climbing and exploring, rope swings, lookouts, slides and “imagination stations.” Park also has picnic tables, gazebo and large play field. Church Street at Morphy Avenue.

TODDLERS PARK
This is a park for children with traditional playground equipment. Corner of Fels Avenue and Liberty Street.

FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL SPORTING PARKS
The 50-acre park is home to the municipal stadium (site of annual Senior Bowl practices), and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, four tennis courts, a disc golf course, seven baseball fields and a gymnasium. Greeno Road at Volanta Street. (251) 990-0174.

SKATE PARK
Located on Volanta Avenue, just south of Fairhope Municipal Stadium. This is a unsupervised facility, skate at your own risk.

Rules and Regulations

  • Use of safety equipment such as helmets, knee & elbow pads and proper shoes are required.
  • No skating against traffic on the ramps or pipes.
  • Do not proceed down ramp until clear of skaters.
  • No Profanity, alcohol or unruly behavior.
  • Open from 8 am -8 pm

If skateboarding is permitted in this facility, any person skateboarding in this facility must wear appropriate protective including helmet, elbow pads and knee pads.”

The Fairhope Dog Park
The Fairhope Dog Park will be Fairhope’s newest park. It is located at the Volanta Park and is under construction. For information or to donate to the park, call Dr. Teresa Marshall at 928-7728.





MARIETTA JOHNSON TREE TRAIL
The Marietta Johnson Tree Trail (located on the campus of Faulkner State Community College) and the Beach Park Tree Trail are self-guided trails that identify hundreds of trees, including more than 25 different species.

BEACH PARK TREE TRAIL
The Beach Park Tree Trail is located along the Fairhope Municipal Beach. It contains almost 500 trees. The Alabama State Champion Swamp Tupelo and Hazel Alder are on the Beach Park Trail. The Beach Park Tree Trail was a joint project between the Wisteria Garden Club and the Fairhope Tree Commission.

FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL POOL
Fairhope’s Municipal Pool features an indoor/outdoor design with eight swimming lanes, a warm-up lane, a large outdoor pool and a children’s “play pool”. Greeno Road at Volanta Street. (251) 990-0175.

PUBLIC BOAT RAMPS
(Pier St., Fairhope Beach Park, Fly Creek)
Easy public boat access to Mobile Bay is provided at several locations throughout Fairhope. Pump-out facilities are located at Eastern Shore Marine on Fly Creek, 848 Sea Cliff Drive.

MARIETTA JOHNSON BOTANICAL GARDEN
Located on the Faulkner State Community College campus in the middle of downtown Fairhope, the garden is names for Marietta Johnson the famous educator who founded the School of Organic Education in 1907. The Marietta Johnson Botanical Garden is a joint project of Faulkner Sate Community College, the Wisteria Garden Club and the Fairhope Tree Commission.

FAIRHOPE RECREATION CENTER
Located on Highway 98 adjacent to the Fairhope Municipal Pool, this facility offers a fitness facility, racquet ball court, basketball gym, walking track and much more. For hours of operation and costs, call 928-7270.
