Trash to Cash - City Of Fairhope

In 1999, the City of Fairhope passed a resolution to recycle curbside yard waste (limbs, leaves, grass clippings). This effort will divert organic yard waste from the landfill (approximately 100 cubic yards per day). The organic yard waste material will be stock piled and chipped periodically to provide a useable wood

Fairhope recycles Yard Waste!

Please separate your yard waste from other "trash" (bulk) debris
Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, limbs, and straw
Black bags are banned because they are not 100% compostable
Residents are encouraged to place debris out loose OR in a mulchable (100% compostable) yard waste bag (available at City Hall and area stores)
Yard Waste is picked up by the Trash Crew and placed in a mulch pile, to be chipped for wood chip mulch
Free mulch to citizens, available at Public Works Dept., 555 South Section Street
